The Rec Box
College students hesitate to utilize on-campus fitness recreation services for two reasons: They are beginners and don’t want to be seen looking clueless at the gym and they are not interested in joining a gym culture centered around weight lifting.
CSULB’s Student Recreation and Wellness Center (SRWC) is an on campus gym that goes unused by college students. In this project, I worked with the SRWC to create a product that markets the campus gym and its services as a safe, fun, diverse and activity based environment that fosters community building.
Problem Statement
Incoming freshmen are students who are going to start a new chapter in college and they often live in the dorms. There is an opportunity to focus the SRWC marketing efforts on them, in that setting, to encourage them to make fitness a part of their new chapter.
The goal of my project is to market the SRWC by taking it outside of the building itself and to the student body. To encourage them and convey that fitness is for everyone and should be a fun part of their lifestyle instead of a serious one.

Interface Design:
The RecBox has an UX/UI interface where students can take a quiz to match them with fitness buddies according to their personal goals and schedule.
