Have you ever needed to study for a midterm but wished you were in the Hogwarts library instead? Or were you ever reading a book at home but wished you were doing so in a cottage in the middle of the woods? or have you wanted to just relax but wished you could see dragons flying outside of your window?
When doing work, studying, reading, or just relaxing, people often seek out ambient environments with lo-fi music to help them concentrate and for an immersive experience. Many artists and music composers help facilitate that experience by uploading their atmospheric animations and music on Youtube so readers can have an immersive experience right at home on their TV or laptop screen.
Intro:
When seeking out an ambient environment, a flat screen can only do so much. At the end of the day, the world that surrounds the user stays the same and the ambience that they are seeking is just seen through the window of a screen, instead of making them feel like they are inside the environment itself. This minimizes the immersive experience needed to truly enjoy reading, studying, working or relaxing. Additionally, platforms like Youtube are distracting and often counterproductive to the focused environment users are looking for.
Background animators and lo-fi composers whole form of art is to create an ambient environment but they are severely limited with the products and platforms that are out there.
